Terms & Conditions
Please be aware that we do not mean to scare anyone with our attendance requirements, however, all-star cheerleading is a demanding team sport that takes full commitment from both athletes and parents.
We expect all athletes to be at training, on time, weekly, in the correct training uniform with the correct footwear.
The following excused / unexcused absence policy applies to every athlete. Please remember that one person can affect the entire team.
For those on the competitive squads, it is crucial that all athletes take part in all training sessions and competitions.
Excused – Graded school event, illness with fever/vomiting, family death, family holiday, COVID-19 isolation
Unexcused – Homework / Revision (feel free to bring homework to training), birthdays/birthday parties/ family celebrations, recreational sports/ school shows, parent not able to drop child off
ATTENDANCE POLICY
· (Competitive athletes & subs) Athletes may not miss training in the 3 weeks leading up to competition for any reason. This will lead to your child being removed from competition immediately, regardless of whether or not they have had any prior absences. We suggest if there is a major issue which means your child will be absent during this period, that you speak to your coach immediately.
· (Competitive athletes & subs) Athletes may not miss competitions
· (Competitive athletes & subs) Any events that conflict with dates on the calendar must be communicated by a parent/guardian via email no later than 4 weeks prior to the event. Approval of the absences is always at the coach’s discretion
· (ALL athletes) 3 unexcused absences throughout the season will result loss of privilege to trial for the competitive squad OR loss of position within the competitive squad if a place has already been given. Your child will still be able to participate in our general cheerleading classes
· (ALL athletes) If you remove your child from the programme, no refunds will be offered and any outstanding fees for training, merchcandise, uniforms or competitions that your child has been entered in to, will still be payable to the club
· No refunds will be given if we must remove your child due to absences and lack of commitment to the team. Commitment fees will also be non-refundable if your child is a competitive athlete.
At ECA we try to be understanding that sometimes ‘life’ does happen and we really do have to do last minute revision or sometimes we just cannot miss ‘Grandad’s 80th birthday party’ and therefore we provide all of our athletes with an ‘Absence Pass’ to use throughout the year for a reason that comes under the ‘unexcused’ section of our policy.
· Absence passes cannot be used to excuse a child from a competition
· Absence passes cannot be used within the 3 weeks leading up to competition
· Absence passes can only be used for 1 date not a set of dates.
You only get 2 absence passes after which, any absences taken that are not excused will count towards your 3 strikes before losing your privileges to trial for a competitive squad or to remain on the team. Please use / encourage your child to use their absence passes wisely.
You can collect an absence pass from your coach.
